Sports Complexes South of Songkla, Thailand

Built in the province south of Songkla, the complex includes two different sites: the first located in the city of Songkla, whose stadium’s capacity was increased from 3,000 to 20,000 spectators. It includes a football field and an 8 lane synthetic athletics track, certified to host international competitions.

The second sports complex was built in Hat Yai, 30 kilometers from the city of Songkla it includes a sports complex that covers an area of 120,000 square metres.

Among its many structures, it has:

  • A main stadium with 3,000 seats and football field and a synthetic polyurethane 8-lane athletics track 
  • An olympic swimming pool, 50 metres long and a 10metre high jumping platform
  • Indoor gyms with a seating capacity for 1,000 spectators which could be extended to 3,000 through retractable bench seating during competitions
  • 4 Tennis courts with facilities

 

The two sports complexes in the Songkla area hosted the  1995 SEA Games.
