The project, located in Washington County (State of Pennsylvania, USA), involved the rebuilding and the widening of Interstate 70.
It included widening from two to three lanes in each direction the western section of the Interstate (from SR 136 Beau Street to I-79 South Junction) and rebuilding a four-lane stretch along the eastern section (from I-79 South Junction to SR 0519 interchange).
The project included lengthening the ramp acceleration and deceleration lanes and structure-related work as follows: replacement of the bridge carrying Eastbound I-70 over CSX; construction of two sound wall barriers along Westbound I-70; construction of a retaining wall; and various culvert extensions.
Other included improvements were: new interchange signing, upgrade of existing highway lighting, drainage system, guiderail, pavement markings.
