Aeroporto Internazionale di San Pietroburgo-Pulkovo

Pulkovo is an international airport located about 20 km from St. Petersburg, in the Northwestern Federal District of Russia. Completed in 2013, the project involved expanding the international terminal to increase the facility’s capacity to 14,000,000 passengers per year.

The new terminal (Pulkovo 3) is internally organised into zones in a layout reminiscent of the islands and bridges dotted around St. Petersburg. The roof and outer shell were designed to withstand the occasionally extreme weather conditions that can hit the city.

Carried out with an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) approach and completed in 40 months, the project included the construction of the main building, complete with check-in desks, boarding bridges, links to existing car parks and terminals, building systems, a business centre and a hotel. It also involved the reconstruction of Pulkovo Terminal 1 (34,314m²) and the construction of an innovative Energy Centre (10MW of power).
