Kingdom Centre
The Kingdom Centre symbolises Saudi Arabia’s important economic growth over the past few years.
It was designed to house the Kingdom Holding head office, the luxury “Four Seasons Hotel”, offices and residential apartments, a shopping centre together with restaurants, a conference centre, a sports centre with a swimming pool and tennis courts, open-air and underground parking.
The complex consists of a 30-storey central tower, topped by a 120 m stylized half-moon steel structure, and two adjoining side buildings
The 300 m high tower is the tallest construction of its type in the Middle East and in Europe. In addition to two underground floors, used mainly to house technical control rooms, the ground floor features a 25 m high access lobby. Between the first and second technical levels, at a height of approximately 90 m, are 14 office floors. Between the second and third levels, at a height of approximately 137 m, are 10 floors and a mezzanine occupied by the hotel. Between the third and fourth technical levels, at a height of approximately 173 m, are 4 floors for apartments, a condominium floor and a floor and mezzanine for the Kingdom Holding head office. The steel reinforced concrete tower structure is completed with the Observation Transfer Level.
Built above this level is the tower’s steel framed section, known as the “Sculpture”. A panoramic lift takes visitors to the highest observation point in Riyadh, the Observation Bridge, above which the façade cleaning pod command station is located.
The building was completed in 2002 and it won the prestigious Emporis Skyscraper Award 2022 as "Best skyscraper in the world for design."
