The contract involves the construction of all the civil engineering works for the building of units 3 & 4 of the Jorf Lasfar thermal power plant, with the installation of 2 320-MW generator units in addition to the two existing units (Units 1 & 2).
The works carried out under the scope of the contract have been:
- Chimney with external concrete chimney shaft with an overall height of 130 m, internal diameter of 12.55 m, including the two internal refractory rods with a diameter of 4.40 m.
- Concrete ash deposit silos with an internal diameter of 12.55 m, 35 m tall.
- Machine room building with the main structure in reinforced concrete.
- Concrete support structure for the turbo-alternator units.
- Foundations for the boilers and water storage tanks.
- Foundations for the transformers and electrofilters.
- Extension of the coolant water pumping and demineralisation buildings.
- Drains, sanitary sewers, trenches and cable trays.
- Foundations for coal conveyor belts and ash disposal.
- Various roads and piazzas.
- Metalwork for the construction of the machine room building’s covering, coal conveyor belts to be used for supplying the boilers and various metal structures.
- Extension of the coal storage areas, including the related support structures for moving the coal.

Excavations: 140,000 m³
Concrete: 65,000 m³
Steel reinforcements: 4,700 tons
Metalwork: 2,000 tons
