MILAN, March 16, 2022 – “The Webuild Group is proud to be part of the international consortium of companies that will build in Norway the Sotra Connection PPP, a public-private partnership worth €2.0 billion, more than €1 billion of which for the design and construction. Today, we have reached an important milestone with the signing of the financial closure for the project. This result reflects the long-term growth strategy that our Group is pursuing in every country where we operate, focusing on projects that are sustainable thanks to innovation and expertise,” said Pietro Salini, Chief Executive of Webuild, following the financial closure of the mega contract that Webuild will develop for the Norwegian Public Roads Authority with partners in Sotra Link SA: Macquarie Capital of Australia and SK ecoplant of South Korea.

“The Sotra Connection PPP is the biggest project of its kind to be awarded in Europe in 2021, and one of the most important for the infrastructure sector in Norway. We will develop it as part of an international consortium that has some of the best expertise in the sector at a global level. We are enthusiastic about having the chance to take on the challenge of developing a network of roads, bridges, tunnels whose scale and complexity is reflected by the features of the main bridge with towers that will reach more than 140 metres in height, equal to a building 50-storeys tall.
