ROME, March 29, 2023 - “Roma Silenziosa Bellezza”, the photo exhibit promoted and organized by Webuild and VIVE Institute – Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia, has proved to be such a success among the public that its showing has been extended for a second time to Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Since the opening of the exhibit on January 20, 2023, 690,047 people have visited the Vittoriano.

The exhibit is part of a larger project that includes a catalogue and an album of the same name, "ROMA SILENZIOSA BELLEZZA", published by Rizzoli on behalf of Webuild. It aims at promoting a debate on themes connected to the idea of a livable city and infrastructure, through a long-term vision capable of ensuring a sustainable development of cities. 

The shots taken by photographer Moreno Maggi, during the months of lockdown of 2020, attracted a diverse public: teenagers and families, but also schools, tourists and residents. From Piazza Venezia, the heart of the Eternal City, to the Pantheon; from the iconographic Piazza di Spagna, and Piazza Navona to the urban masterpiece of Piazza del Popolo; from the ancient Rome of the Palatine to the EUR: more than 60 images tell the story of a silent, empty city. Observed without distraction, it allows us to contemplate how urban spaces are misaligned from the real needs of communities.

Curated by Alessandra Mauro and Roberto Koch, the “Roma Silenziosa Bellezza” journey is rich in videos, imagery, multimedia projections and a series of quotes by famous people: from Goethe to Ortese, from Fellini to Pasolini, from Stendhal to Ludovico Quaroni. The public can also listen to the audio guide that provides anecdotes about Rome's iconic sites and places.

The video mapping, prepared and created by Webuild, will also continue until April 11: a selection of images that, since mid-January, has been lighting up Palazzo Venezia, with projections switching between photos and works of light. They can be viewed from 8:00 p.m. to 01:00 a.m.
