October 27, 2015 - Giulia Conti, "helmswoman" of the Aniene sailing team, sponsored by Salini Impregilo, is the first athlete to be selected for the Italian sailing team for Rio de Janeiro's 2016 Olympics, together with Francesca Clapcich.

These two athletes have been sailing together since the beginning of 2013, and are currently the Italian and European champions, having quickly reached the top of the rankings for the 49er FX class competition, the female crew version of the 49er. “The Technical Management confirmed the names of these two athletes to the Federal Council so as to communicate the crew members to the CONI.  These two young women and the "work-cell" that the two form with their coach Gianfranco Sibello, are a beautiful example of how the Italian National Team is working and, deservedly, are the 'first piece of the mosaic' that will form the Italian Sailing Expedition for Rio 2016", said Michele Marchesini, Technical Manager of the Italian National Sailing Team.

The success of these two sailors is based on the desire for improvement, on loyalty and on team spirit. These are the values that allowed a four-year partnership between Salini Impregilo and the Aniene Sailing Team. The Group wishes to boost the sailing team's activity towards the 2016 Olympics.
