From CSC to Lane, Clough and Fisia: subsidiaries contribute to the Group's growth in low-risk strategic markets

Milan, May 23, 2024 – A new project in Switzerland was won by the Webuild Group. CSC Costruzioni, a Group subsidiary, has won a contract worth a total of over €302 million for the Nuovo Stabilimento Industriale Ferroviario (NSIF) project in Ticino, Switzerland, with a 67% share that amounts to €202 million.

The work was commissioned by FFS (Ferrovie Federali Svizzere) to the Consorzio Officine Ticinesi OFT consortium led by CSC Costruzioni, which will implement the preparatory works like installing the construction site and carrying out the excavation works, and then constructing the main building, the nearby technical buildings, and all works for the external areas.

Works are expected to begin at the start of July 2024 and will end by 2027, when the Nuovo Stabilimento Industriale Ferroviario will be opened for use. 

CSC is one of Webuild's subsidiaries that contributes to driving the Group's growth in low-risk markets that are also competitive and with growing trends to investing in infrastructures: from Lane to the United States, to Clough in Australia; or Fisia Italimpianti and Cossi Costruzioni, respectively specialised in the water, tunnelling, road maintenance sectors, in Italy.

CSC Costruzioni has been present in Switzerland for over 60 years, designing and constructing sustainable works, with over 20 ongoing projects. The company is currently engaged in constructing highly technological and innovative projects like the extension of the Data Centre for the client, Safe Host, at Gland (the Vaud Canton), in Switzerland. It is also working to restructure the historical buildings of the United Nations Offices in Geneva. CSC has also recently completed Parc du Simplon, a green building project for urban redevelopment, which has led to a new neighbourhood, only 5 kilometres away from downtown Lausanne, with residential and commercial buildings.
