Webuild: U.S. subsidiary Lane completes and delivers a strategic section of the I-275 highway project in Florida to enhance safety
From New York to Washington D.C., Lane at work to renew U.S. infrastructure network
Milan, 9 April 2025 – Work on Interstate 275 in Florida, carried out by Lane, is now complete. Webuild’s U.S. subsidiary has completed the I-275 Section 7 Phase 1 project, which is crucial for accommodating the growing traffic in the Tampa Bay area and ensuring more efficient and safer mobility.
The project involved widening highway lanes and implementing advanced signalling and lighting systems to improve visibility and safety, from the I-4 interchange to north of Hillsborough Avenue. Innovative materials and eco-sustainable design solutions were used, along with the installation of backup generators for monitoring cameras to ensure their operation even during extreme weather events.
Lane is currently working on numerous road projects in Florida, including the and the Westshore Interchange, aimed at strengthening two of the area’s busiest junctions and enhancing emergency lanes used during extreme weather events in the Tampa Bay area. Other ongoing projects include the in Seminole County and improvements at the in Orange County.
The Webuild Group, with a track record of approximately 82,600 km of roads and highways built globally, works to modernize road and highway infrastructure in the U.S. through projects like the Newport News segment of the I-64 Hampton Roads Express Lanes (HREL) project in Virginia and the in Wake County, North Carolina. Lane is also working on the in the metropolitan area of Washington, D.C. and replacing and modernizing works for the I-20 Bridge over Wateree River in Kershaw County, South Carolina.
