Webuild: the course on “Sustainable infrastructure project management” with the University of Genoa begins today
Renewal of collaboration on the UniWeLab research laboratory to promote innovation for sustainable mobility
Genoa, 21 February 2025 – Applied scientific research and advanced training for the development of sustainability mobility: these are the cornerstones of the collaboration between the Webuild Group and the University of Genoa, which today saw the renewal of the laboratory set up in 2021 with the support of the Municipality of Genoa. Also launched today was the new advanced course in “Sustainable Infrastructure Project Management” in the presence of Webuild Chief HR, Organisation & Systems Officer Gian Luca Grondona, Enrico Musso, Tenured Professor and Director of the C.I.E.L.I. Integrated Logistics Centre of Excellence, and Ilaria del Ponte, Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the C.I.E.L.I.
The new course will offer 30 students the opportunity to frequent an international organisation like Webuild, which in Genoa is working on strategic projects such as the and the . They will develop technical skills in addition to those offered by traditional courses, acquire internship experience, and obtain educational credits.
The course is a 150-hour program (including 75 hours on an internship basis), and for the first edition is for first- and second-year students on master’s degree courses in several faculties of the University of Genoa. It will include the presentation of first-hand experiences by Group managers. The initiative, which has attracted more than double the expected number of enrolment applications, will also involve Fisia Italimpianti, a Webuild Group subsidiary based in Genoa, which specialises in water treatment and desalination.
UniWeLab is one of a range of Webuild talent training initiatives for young people in Italy and around the world, with the focus on professional development, selection, recruitment in the Group construction sites, and tutoring for career paths in the professional construction sector. Webuild has also formed partnerships with bodies such as the Polytechnic of Milan and the Bocconi University in Italy and, abroad, in countries of interest, with the University of Technology in Sydney and the University of Melbourne in Australia.
