Developing the economy in Ethiopia since 1957

Producing electricity, supplying drinking water in urban and rural areas, developing road infrastructure, constructing buildings and hospitals for the community. These are some of the many works completed in Ethiopia which, over the years, have had a significant impact on the country's economy and social development.

Today, approximately 85% of the energy generated in the country comes from hydroelectric plants, a result obtained thanks to the enormous investments made and the works completed. All in a bid to become a carbon neutral country by 2025.

Energy for development

Ethiopia is investing 12 billion euro in energy production with the objective of becoming a regional benchmark, for both the production of energy and the sale of the same to the neighbouring countries.

This economic growth, together with the future prospects for development, is closely linked to an ambitious energy policy which has now been sustained for many years.
