Two-thousand metres, two-thousand steps, one life. Claudio Strinati's Journey inside the Metro C's construction sites

Art historian Claudio Strinati glides along the route of Line C, demonstrating how the same intersects with Ancient Rome's locations and the Baroque era’s of downtown Rome.

Rome's new metro is a unique opportunity from an archaeological point of view: the opening of any new construction site is an almost unrepeatable opportunity to excavate and investigate, through the archaeological method, the Eternal City's underground subsoil.

When past, present and future coexist, just as Beauty and usefulness do

Infrastructure construction sites are deeply entwined with urban development, urban planning and with territorial history and archaeology. And are often also an unrepeatable occasion to discover the hidden treasures that have been hidden underground for centuries or millennia.

Webuild Group's commitment with regard to the conservation and valorization of artistic pieces and archaeological finds, transforms constructing new roads and metros into exciting archaeological expeditions that allow a revision of history and a rediscovery of ancient people's customs.
