Built by Webuild, the Sogamoso hydroelectric dam rises far above the eponymous river, using its waters to turn its massive turbines to produce about 10% of the country’s electricity. Inaugurated in 2015, it is the fourth largest dam in Colombia with 820 megawatts of installed capacity.
