Main roles and professional skills
Product Engineer
The Product Engineer is the reference person for the relevant asset class. He/she offers support through his/her specific know-how, aimed at defining and validating the operational setup. His/her objective is to increase the Group's competitiveness, both during the tender and project execution phase (i.e. clarification requests regarding project solutions, the project work advancement status, defining the work scope for project consultants).
Technical Office Engineer
The Technical Office Engineer collaborates within the technical office to define and develop a technical method aimed at executing the project. He/she works within the Engineering Department to identify potential issues and develops the relevant solutions. By interfacing with external firms he/she verifies that works satisfy the project's requirements.
Project Manager
The Project Manager is the person responsible for the project. His/her aim is to mainly deliver the project according to the timings and methods that were agreed upon, according to budget requirements. He/she manages works first hand while also implementing the worksite activities guaranteeing that the operational plan is carried out with the required resources. He/she guarantees the project's control, in terms of cost, quality, health, safety and the environment. And also manages relations with the Client's representatives and with third parties.
Planner
The Planner supervises and directs all planning and scheduling activities. He/she manages the development and maintenance activities relating to the planning, during the entire project life cycle, while also reviewing the plan to integrate eventual changes or variations already made. And also provides his/her support to define the operational strategies aimed at improving the process, supervising the development of the planning systems, estimating costs and project duration, while also monitoring base estimates during the project execution phase.
Geologist
The Geologist analyses all the documentation relating to the project site to define what geological investigations must be carried out. He/she carries out geological studies and supervises the installation activities relating to the survey instruments. The Geologist also collects all the data needed to understand geological phenomena, to provide prompt information in order to guarantee better safety and work advancement. He/she also identifies possible hydrological variations that could influence the worksite and the project's advancement
Drilling & Grouting Engineer
The Drilling & Grouting Engineer under the supervision of the worksite management, follows all activities linked to managing the equipment for Drilling and Grouting activities. And also monitors while the equipment is being prepared and positioned and while the project is being executed to make sure that everything works properly. He/she monitors the equipment measuring its efficiency, while also registering its performance and drilling parameters. The Drilling & Grouting Engineer collects sample materials to test in the lab, and writes up the relevant reports.
Project Planner Engineer
The Project Planner Engineer supervises and manages all planning and scheduling activities. He/she guarantees the development and maintenance activities relating to the planning, during the entire project life cycle, while also reviewing the plan to integrate eventual changes or variations already made. And also provides his/her support to define the operational strategies aimed at improving the process, supervising the development of the planning systems, estimating costs and project duration, while also monitoring base estimates during the project execution phase.
Deputy Proposal Manager
The Deputy Proposal Manager analyses the tender documents with the aim of identifying and investigate the critical aspects like the bid budget and/or the preliminary risk analysis. He/she prepares, monitors and updates the Bid Management Plan that includes the strategy definition, the scheduling of activities and of the tender management phases, the Bid Organization Chart (detailing roles and responsibilities) and the budget. He/she prepares and checks the summary documents to present and for the final approval of the bid/offer.
Technical Director
The Technical Director coordinates the Engineering Team to define the most appropriate project solutions, according to the bid strategies and in compliance with the deadlines defined by the activity plan. He/she supervises the study and analysis activities to identify the technical specifications related to the project. The Technical Director contributes to assessing project solutions, checking, with the other corporate functions, the choices made, so as to improve the competitiveness of the bid during the tender phase and to improve the project result in terms of cost and timings, according to the design strategies.
Area Bid Manager
The Area Bid Manager coordinates all the study phases of the projects identified in his/her area of responsibility. He/she gathers and analyses significant information to correctly setup the project study strategy. And interfaces with the Business Development Department and with the other Operations functions for the preliminary study of potential projects in the identified geographical area.
Site Engineer
The Site Engineer, within the Project Team, guarantees that the project is carried out according to the work plan and its technical specifications. He/she collaborates to define the project steps and the work methods to adopt considering timings and regulations, specifications relating to technical quality, safety and the environment, to guarantee that they are done.
The Site Engineer coordinates the activities of subcontractors/trustees guaranteeing that resources are used correctly and efficiently by the them, for work scheduling purposes.
