Webuild together with the Community of Sant'Egidio for the humanitarian emergency in Ukraine

PRESS NOTES

Milan, March 15, 2022 - Faced with the human drama that is unfolding in Ukraine, the Webuild Group has decided to support the Community of Sant'Egidio on site to assist the Ukrainian population in facing Ukraine's humanitarian emergency.

The Group, currently not active in Ukraine has made a donation to support the extraordinary aid programme for the Ukrainian population launched by Sant'Egidio: A concrete gesture estimated, to  benefit 2,000 Ukrainians. It expresses the Group's closeness to those experiencing the tragedy and the consequences of the war, mainly women and children.

The Community of Sant’Egidio, has been active for over 30 years in Ukraine in the cities of Kiev, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivs’k, Karkiv and Žovti Vod as well as in Donbass. The Community of Sant'Egidio, thanks to the network of members and local volunteers available in the area, is providing first assistance (food, water, accommodation and essential non-food goods) to people on the move, and to those who have no way to flee, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable.

The funds made available by Webuild will be destined to support children remaining in Ukraine who are in need of goods and services, to facilitate a safer evacuation for those fleeing from war areas, and also through the distribution of food products, personal hygiene items and other basic necessities. Resources will also be made available to support reception and integration paths in Italy for Ukrainian refugees
